chris kabel

Chris Kabel was born in Bloemendaal, the Netherlands in 1975. He graduated in 2001 from the Design Academy Eindhoven. In 2002 he moved to Rotterdam where he started his design practice. He works for and with design labels, architects, cultural institutions and design galleries. He is a professor at the Ecole Cantonale d’Art inLausanne (ECAL). Awards Chris won or was nominated for: Rotterdam Design Prize, nominee 2003; Red Dot Design Award, 2006; Stokroos Stipend, 2006; Wallpaper Design Award, 2007; Dutch Material Prize, 2009; Finalist Dutch Design Awards, 2011. Feature his work in MoMA (New York), Boijmans van Beuningen(Rotterdam), Stedelijk Museum(Amsterdam), Hangaram Design Museum (Seoul), Fonds National d'Art Contemporain(Paris) Mint Museum (Charlotte US), EKWC (Den Bosch), Institut fuer Auslandsbeziehungen (Stuttgart), National Textile Museum(Tilburg), Philadelphia museum of Art (Sililace).
